Your inspection

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Держпродспоживслужба) inspects food businesses. Under martial law planned inspections are paused (Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 303 of 13.03.2022, narrowed several times since 2025); unscheduled checks still happen where there is a risk to life or health, or after a complaint. The rules change: check the latest.

After a visit the inspector writes a report (an act) and tells you what to put right and by when. The inspector can fine the business (fines are set as multiples of the minimum wage), take unsafe food off the market and, if health is at risk, stop the activity.

Hygiene rating

Ukraine has no public hygiene rating, sticker or score, and nothing has to be displayed. Chef Hygiene shows no rating card for Ukraine.

“Law” is a binding rule. “Official guidance” is not law, but inspectors expect it. “Chef Hygiene default” is a value the app checks against where no rule gives a number.
