North Macedonia: for restaurants and takeaways
Ready for the food inspection. Every day.
In North Macedonia the app follows the Law on Food Safety (Закон за безбедност на храната, Official Gazette 157/2010, as amended), which follows the EU's food hygiene rules. The Food and Veterinary Agency (AHV) inspects, and every food business runs a food safety system based on HACCP.

Your inspection
The Food and Veterinary Agency (Агенција за храна и ветеринарство, AHV) inspects food businesses.
After a visit the inspector writes a report and tells you what to put right and by when. The inspector can fine the business, take unsafe food off the market and, if health is at risk, close the premises.
Hygiene rating
North Macedonia has no public hygiene rating, sticker or score, and nothing has to be displayed. Chef Hygiene shows no rating card for North Macedonia.
“Law” is a binding rule. “Official guidance” is not law, but inspectors expect it. “Chef Hygiene default” is a value the app checks against where no rule gives a number.
