New Zealand: staff sickness and training
Training, food handler rules and when sick staff must stay away from food.
Checked
“Law” is a binding rule. “Official guidance” is not law, but inspectors expect it. “Chef Hygiene default” is a value the app checks against where no rule gives a number.
- LawThere is no national food handler card and no required course. Your plan asks you to train staff until they are competent and to keep a training record: who, when, which parts of the plan, signed by the trainer and the trainee.
- LawStaff with vomiting, diarrhoea or jaundice tell the manager and stay away from food until 48 hours after the symptoms stop (MPI's template Food Control Plan).
